Mock Draft - The BK & CP Memorial League

Like an old gaming console, I've pulled this blog out of the closet and dusted off the cobwebs. Just gotta hope there aren't any glitches or dust fires caused due to inactivity. Now, originally, this was for a previous dynasty league, but given that this is by far the most in-depth league it makes sense to create some content for your consumption. These are my own opinions and observations for the upcoming rookie draft, so enjoy.

1.1 - Jeremiyah Love, Cardinals

Beer Can Alley FC
Not the best landing spot for his rookie campaign, but like Bijan Robinson before him, Love can be counted on to shoulder the load and become a cheap RB1 for Kyle Beck's boys. Easy selection, onto the next.

1.2 - Fernando Mendoza, Raiders
Name TBD
The best move here would probably be to trade back a few spots for more picks or cheap controllable players, but landing a potential franchise QB with years of team friendly control is best for the long run. Yes, Cousins looms in the background, but Fernando should be given the reigns early and the investments to the OL and an upgraded coaching staff point to that being the case.

1.3 - Carnell Tate, Titans
Keg Stand
There's an absolute black hole on this roster when it comes to RB, but with Love off the board you have to take the best available player and that's Tate. Yes, there are some concerns about truly elite production (or lack there off) but given the talent of THE Ohio State University's wideouts and the number of mouths to feed, the pedigree speaks for itself. He should quickly become Cam Ward's safety blanket.

1.4 - Makai Lemon, Eagles
Wide-Left Walsh's
A case can be made for Lemon or Tyson here, but I lean towards the most immediate potential impact and that's in Philly. AJ Brown is out and there will be receptions available. The psycho killer mentality that was on display on draft night is also compelling.

1.5 - Jordyn Dyson, Saints
Coach Klein's Playbook
The roster needs more QB depth, but that will have to come from free agency. Best available is a pass catcher and it's probably still a little early to take one of the Tight Ends. Dyson might be the most talented wideout in this draft, but where he landed makes things (a little) complicated. Chris Olave is still there and when healthy is a legit weapon. That's the rub though, he's been mired by injury in his young career, so Dyson could see a lot of targets on a team that will probably be trailing a lot this year.

1.06 - Jadarian Price, Seahawks
Snob Hill FC
Someone has to play RB for Seattle until Charbonnet gets his feet back under him and that's more of an if than a when at this point. Plenty of risk with the pick, but this Seahawk fan sees a lot of Chris Carson in Price's running style and spending 4 years as the spell back in South Bend means he has plenty of tread on the tires. Ideally, everyone ignores this player until 1.12.

1.07 - Kenyon Sadiq, Jets
Dabert
Cap wise, Brett's squad is in good shape to draft the best available at this selection. I flirted with Ty Simpson to provide a cheap future option in the QB room, but settled on Sadiq being used as the mismatch weapon for a team that's going to be down a lot. Geno can still sling it and beyond 2026, he'll be the next QB's best friend.

1.08 - KC Concepcion, Browns
Above Average Joes
He was the first wideout selected by the Browns and that puts him higher on the list over fellow rookie Denzel Boston. The Browns need pass catching weapons beyond their Tight Ends and what we saw last year was abysmal. The uncertainty and revolving door at Quarterback didn't help, but guys didn't do themselves any favors. Concepcion will likely handle the slot where he excelled in college and in PPR that leans to more targets per game.

1.09 - Eli Stowers, Eagles
Above Average Joes
Getting drafted 54th overall gives you a lot of plot armor and vaults you up draft boards. There are questions about blocking ability and size, but when you are a size and speed mismatch on an offense that jettisoned 121 targets and also threw to tight ends 104 times in 2025, there will be opportunities for valuable production.

1.10 - Jonah Coleman, Broncos
Rugby With Pads
Pass catchers galore on this roster, but with no surefire starting QB among the rookies, I lean toward the underrated rusher. Yes, J.K Dobbins and RJ Harvey are still on the roster, but Coleman looks to be a real option in the short yardage game as a rookie. He's a power back but he's got incredibly soft hands which could be put to good use in Sean Payton's offense. It might be a bit of a backfield quagmire, but both Dobbins and Harvey missed time with injury last year and in Dobbins case, those ligaments are a ticking timebomb.

1.11 - Omar Cooper Jr., Jets
Wide-Left Walsh's
Like the Sadiq pick above, I see this being a pick for the future and possibly a garbage time hero selection. The Jets saw some sparkle with AD Mitchell, but Cooper operated out of the slot primarily in college and could be that weapon for Geno Smith who will need a quick option. With the Jets investing draft capital into Cooper's selection, it validates his role in the organization and scheme going forward.

1.12 - Denzel Boston, Browns
Ball Fondlers
More often than not, the needs for a roster don't align with what players end up at the selection. TE and RB make the most sense, but sometimes you have to go with the heart and take the Washington Husky. Boston landed in a tough spot in that he'll compete with fellow rookie Concepcion as well as the talented TE duo of Njoku and Fannin Jr. for snaps and targets. If anything this is a hedge bet against Jerry Jeudy who is also on the Fondlers' payroll. Don't rule out a trade or surprise QB selection come draft day.
