Launchpad delegates QB Thomas to Practice Squad

Could Thomas take the next step in 2015? Time will tell.
SIOUX FALLS - Logan Thomas may have gone undrafted, but not unnoticed. In the desert he's been able to thrive in coach Bruce Arians' quarterback-friendly system along with not feeling the pressure of being the immediate starter. Launchpad GM Jake Iversen also has his starter firmly in place meaning Thomas can sit back and learn his craft as the heir apparent in Arizona. Much like Ben Roethlisberger in his prime, Thomas has the mobility and strength to buy buy time and make plays develop. Accuracy was a problem spot in college but through three preseason games it's a habit that looks to be corrected.
When Thomas is ready to take the reins he'll have a pretty potent offense to run. Receiver Michael Floyd should be well established and the rookies John and Jaron Brown could make for an exciting tandem. Question marks include a patchy offensive line and the lack of a pass-catching tight end, could Troy Niklas be the missing piece? We will just have to wait and see.

Murray and Niklas riding "Gravy Train" Caboose

Niklas and Murray will look to make an impact in 2015
SIOUX FALLS - With the roster deadline rapidly approaching, the Manning Gravy Train is getting ahead of the momentum by designating quarterback Aaron Murray and tight end Troy Niklas for the practice squad. The move ends the season for these two players but GM Ronald Hawkins sees plenty potential for future development.
Better luck next year Andy
Murray may be currently unemployed as he is buried on the Kansas City Chief's roster but Hawkins believes the gunslinger from Georgia is ready to take the reins.
"Let's not forget what Andy (Reid) can do with lesser-known quarterbacks," Hawkins told the members of the media."I think Murray will be ready to make the most of his opportunity."
Hawkins went on to say that he believes this training camp was awash due to Murray's late season injury in college.

As for the 'golden-domer' in the desert, Troy Niklas is having a hard time catching on with Bruce Arians' high octane offense.  In College, Niklas was a stud pass catcher with suspect blocking. It's a trait that will probably keep him from making an impact this season. Hawkins wisely made the move to delegate the tight end and see what he's capable of before he invests long-term.

The Price is Right for Allen's Ransom

SAN DIEGO - It's probably the last blockbuster of the 2014 summer, Natty Bohs' dynamic wide receiver Keenan Allen and specialist Dri Archer are headed to Dr. Chim Richalds in exchange for runningback Ben Tate, wide receiver Aaron Dobson and a bevy of future draft picks.

Keenan Allen headlines a blockbuster trade in the Dynasty League
The man at the helm, Dr. Chim Richalds' GM Brett Bunde was forced to make a move and bolster a completely devastated wide receiver corps. Josh Gordon's pending suspension, Victor Cruz's knee, and under performing second year guys like Hopkins and Woods definitely played big into this decision. With a name like Dr. Chim Richalds it only seems fitting that the players Bunde trades have huge injury risks. Normally, dealing two injury plagued players like Dobson and Tate shouldn't ever be enough to get a quality player like Allen, but the inclusion of three picks in next year's draft makes this a no-brainer for the Natty Bohs. The deal includes the rights to the 2015 second round picks of both Luck Dynasty and Tom-a-Hank as well as the third round pick from Dr. Chim Richalds. Was the price a bit steep? Yes, but it was a ransom that needed to be paid. Allen has quickly become one of the rising stars in the National Football League and quickly becomes a WR1 for his team.

While most star wide receivers come at a premium, Allen and his third round draft pick contract means he's a huge bargain for the San Diego Chargers. Subsequently, in fantasy, he was also a diamond in the rough being selected in the second round by the Natty Bohs. So losing such a valuable asset could be hard for the Natty Bohs to replicate. The team's GM Mike Rhode gets some talent back in the deal in the form of Ben Tate and Aaron Dobson but the real meat of the trade is the surplus of draft picks.

Will Tate take over the job in Cleveland?
Ben Tate has yet to solidify himself as the featured runningback in Cleveland's potentially dangerous new offense, but that team has so many other questions marks it's hard to know what is a reasonable expectation for anyone. On the Natty Bohs, he will be nothing more than runningback depth as Gio Bernard, Andre Ellington, and Alfred Morris are more reliable weekly options. Come bye weeks however, Tate could be a tasty fill-in.

When healthy, Dobson is a dangerous weapon
Aaron Dobson on the other hand will be one of the most frustrating components of Rhode's team. Drafted as a deep threat capable of making spectacular catches with his hands, Dobson has ridden the bench constantly for both drops and health reasons. On the Natty Bohs roster, Dobson will also ride the bench as Roddy White, Michale Crabtree, and perhaps Dwayne Bowe will keep him at JAG status. Could Dobson catch fire? There is a chance given his quarterback is Tom Freakin Brady but it would take injuries to both Gronk and Amendola as well as plenty more reps with Tom for him to be a reliable weekly start.

Like I said earlier the meat of this trade are the draft picks and Rhode has a proven record that he can make the most of them. Allen and Ellington are both testaments to that. If he keeps those three additional picks it's almost a guarantee that one of them will hit big. That extra collateral could also be used to move up in next year's draft or plug holes this season should injuries pop up. Allen might be the biggest name of this trade but come next May, there could be three more names poised to make a big splash.

James Jones hops aboard "Gravy Train"

OAKLAND - On the actual gridiron, this off-season saw 30 year-old James Jones bolt the crowded receiving corps of Green Bay for the target saturated fields of Northern California. So it only seems fitting that in fantasy, Jones' reliable hands end up making a move to a team that could use some depth at receiver.
James Jones is ready to become "the" guy in Oakland
On Friday, Manning Gravy Train GM Ronnie Hawkins pulled the trigger with the wily Keegan Warwick of the Luck Dynasty to land the receiver in exchange for a 2016 second round pick.
In Oakland, Jones finds himself in a great opportunity to play immediately if he develops a good chemistry with veteran quarterback Matt Schaub, the same goes for his ride on the 'Gravy Train.'
"We have a lot of guys coming off injuries, this move helps buy us some time and get Eric (Decker) and Reggie (Wayne) back to 100-percent." said Hawkins.
The move also helps Luck Dynasty as Jones was buried behind Megatron, Julio Jones, and Brandon Marshal. Getting an extra pick means another bullet in the chamber for Warwick who has a history of making some explosive trades with his stockpiled draft picks. Is there another move on the horizon for the fantasy juggernaut? Time will tell.
As for the Gravy Train? This move helps keep the train on the tracks as the Championship window slowly starts to shut with every "Omaha" that's shouted on Sunday.
